Bird on the Pole 2024 is a vibrant, fruit-driven Pinot Noir from DRAP, the project of Emelie Maeyens in Oostkamp, Belgium. Made from handpicked Pinot Noir grown just across the border in Germany, this light and expressive red showcases the purity of the vintage through gentle extraction, long barrel ageing, and a strict no-additives philosophy.
Origin: Germany (Baden) Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir Style: Light, juicy, and elegant red Year: 2024 Alcohol: 12.3% Vinification: Hand-harvested grapes undergo just a few hours of maceration before pressing. The wine is then transferred to used 220L ex-Burgundy oak barrels, where it matures for around 16 months. Bottled unfiltered, without additives or fining.
The warm, dry 2024 vintage brings generous red fruit and remarkable purity, while the short maceration contributes delicate herbal notes and freshness. Expect vibrant cherries, wild berries, subtle spice, and a silky texture, supported by the mineral character of Baden's clay and limestone soils.
Bird on the Pole is a beautifully restrained Pinot Noir that favours elegance over power. Serve slightly chilled alongside charcuterie, roast poultry, mushrooms, or simply enjoy it on its own.

WHAT TYPE OF GROWERS WE WORK WITH
OIur wines are a reflection of nature's truest form. We partner only with biodynamic vineyards—places where vines are nurtured with a reverence for the earth and a deep respect for natural rhythms. These vineyards view the soil not as a means to an end but as a living, breathing ecosystem. By working in harmony with the land, they cultivate wines that are as alive as the soils they spring from.
Our wines hold the pure expression of the vine, untouched by chemical interference and guided by the wisdom of traditional methods. Each bottle carries an honest snapshot of its origin: the seasons, the hands that tended the vines, and the character of the soil itself. These are wines with a pulse, honest and unapologetic, offering a taste of nature in its unaltered state.
